APRIL 2026

What's New at MMF

Small Hands, Big Impact

Earlier this month, a group of young girls came together with one simple goal: to give back.

They asked how they could help, and together they assembled 50 distraction and comfort bags for children in the hospital through the Michael Magro Foundation.

Each bag will soon be in the hands of a child facing treatment, helping to ease fear, bring a smile, and offer a little comfort during a very difficult time.

What makes this so special is not just the bags themselves, but the love behind them.

These young girls showed that kindness starts early, and that even the smallest act can make a big difference. Moments like this are such a beautiful reminder that the future is bright.

If you’ve ever wondered how to inspire young people to give back, this is it. Lead them, include them, and watch what they can do.

A heartfelt thank you to Paychex for sponsoring these comfort bags, and to Allison Erlich from Paychex for helping make this special project possible.

Spikes, Smiles & Support

Our volleyball tournament on April 25 may have been lean but it was mighty in every way that counts.

With a smaller, close-knit group, the energy was high, the games were competitive, and the day was filled with fun and great sportsmanship.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our sponsors, players, and volunteers who made this event possible.

A special thank you to Michael Furino, whose vision brought this event to life. Michael quickly partnered with his brother Robert Furino to make it happen. As co-owners of Long Island Sports Dome, they generously donated the event space—an incredible indoor facility that helped make the day such a success. On behalf of myself and the MMF Board, we are truly grateful.

We also extend our sincere thanks to our generous sponsors:

Event Sponsors: Hartford Funding / Mastering Your Mortgage with Mike Cymbala; JLJ Enterprisesand Handsome Home Buyers

Food Sponsor: The Experience

Court Sponsors: Bulovas Restorations, Building Defense Solutions, Rubin & Rosen Adjusters, Mignone’s Masonry Inc. & Adam D. Cline & Tricia Devine

Thanks to this amazing community, the event raised $5,950 and every dollar will make a meaningful impact on the families we support.

We are grateful to everyone who showed up, played hard, and stood behind the mission.

Playing for Something Bigger

High school athletes showed up with heart, determination, and a shared purpose playing not just for the game, but for Rowyn Grace and the many families supported by the Michael Magro Foundation. The energy, sportsmanship, and community spirit on that field were truly something special.

Even with a little rain trying to slow us down, the mission continues. The Baldwin vs. Hewlett game has been rescheduled to May 2nd at 2 PM at Hewlett High School, and we hope to see everyone there to keep this momentum going.

Thank you to all the teams, coaches, families, and supporters who made this event so meaningful. Together, we are making a difference one game, one family, one act of kindness at a time.
