YOGA STUDIO
Meet Ivey DeJesus, RYT
I've been studying yoga for years and I still cannot say how a triangle, a downward facing dog or a juicy plow has changed who I am.  All I know is that this ancient practice has transformed me from the deepest levels of my being. Yoga has changed the way I view the world, the way I speak, what I say to people and what I choose not to say. It has had a profound impact on my relationships, my outlook and my happiness.

Yoga has helped me to honor and respect my body, to stop pushing it to an elusive ideal and to accept with compassion its limitations - all while urging me to test its limits with a sense of joy and play.

In the fall of 2010, I enrolled in the 200-hour yoga teacher training program at Power Yoga Works in Philadelphia, a Baron Baptiste power yoga affiliate studio. With my work schedule and family obligations, it took me almost two years to fulfill the requirements for the 200-hour certification - but I did it!

I love sharing the gift of yoga and approach it as service. I have deep gratitude for this path and believe that everyone - no matter the age, physical abilities or limitations - can reap amazing benefits from yoga. I practice yoga daily, but on those days that life's obligations take precedence, I revel in the fact that yoga happens anywhere. The poses never stop. When I'm not on the mat, I love to write, garden, run and hike. I'm a foodie and I love wine. And I love spending time with my husband and two daughters.
I teach vinyasa at Om - and it's always a fun class. We must laugh - we must be light and take things lightly. I also blog for YogaBasics.com and write my own blog at  [email protected] . I hope to see you at my class!

Ivey teaches the 6:45pm Vinyasa  on Mondays in Camp Hill. She'll also be teaching the Saturday 8:45am Vinyasa in Camp  Hill on April 4th.

Farewell, Sarah Woods!
It is bittersweet for us to announce that Sarah Woods is going to be leaving us as of April 4th. Sarah has an opportunity to move to St. Louis that she can't pass up. And as truly sorry as we are to see her go, we know that she will do great things there. Congratulations, Sarah! You will be missed.

Sarah has been teaching about 15 classes per week at Om My Yoga, in Camp Hill and Harrisburg. Fortunately we have several excellent instructors on staff who will be taking over many of Sarah's classes. Rose Freed will pick up all of Sarah's Barre Fusion classes and the Monday night Vinyasa in Harrisburg. Regina Varos will take over the Tuesday night Aerial and Reformer, and temporarily the Friday 10:15am Reformer. Rachel Wilson will be teaching the Thursday morning Reformer. Sarah Lasoski is stepping into the Thursday Aerial and Yogalates classes. We are also welcoming a new instructor, Lauren Lutz, who will teach the 6:15pm Wednesday Pilates Reformer. Lauren has a 700 hour Pilates certification that includes extensive training on the Reformer. Welcome, Lauren!

Sarah's departure gives us the opportunity to remove some of the classes that have had low attendance over the last few months. The Monday 8:30am Reformer and 11:30 Yogalates, Friday 9am Mat Pilates and 11:30 Pilates Reformer have all been trimmed, at least temporarily, from the schedule. We are seeking a new instructor for Sarah's other Pilates Reformer classes on the schedule--the Monday 9:45am , and Saturday 1pm. There will be a short period of time during which we need to cancel those classes, until a qualified, professional and vibrant instructor is hired. We are talking to several people right now who we hope will be a fit for those classes, and you can look forward to hearing more about the new instructor(s) that we hire very soon!

Please join us in wishing Sarah good luck on her new venture!
