Don't let anything steal your peace!
This month we are setting an intention for Asteya - non stealing. Just as our past intentions have been more complex than they seem on the surface, this concept is no different.
Of course, stealing is wrong. We know that we must pay for what we want. This can be true at the local market, but also in our interactions with ourselves and others. When we spend too much time on our phones scrolling through pictures or status updates, we may be stealing time from our loved ones This can create tension and resentment. We can also steal time from ourselves. While we could be practicing our yoga as a practice of self-care we might find ourselves binge watching the next favorite show.
While these things aren't bad in themselves, finding a system of priority is important. Ayurveda teaches us that routine in self-care can free up our mental capacity for deeper studies and relationships with others.
We have many opportunities to find that self-care this month.
Please join us and then make yourself available to your loved ones.
