OUR NEW JEWISH-THEMED FILM SERIES!
We are pleased to announce three free screenings in our new series, to take place at The 519, a community centre on Church Street (Room 301), on the following Sunday afternoons, from 1:30-4:30 p.m.:
April 30th, May 28th and June 18th.
The first screening on April 30th will be the German-Jewish comedy, Go for Zucker (Alles Auf Zucker), a hilarious, award-winning film, which has had screenings at the TJFF. This G
erman comedy film, released internationally in 2004, is one of the very few movies about German Judaism that does not have the Shoah at its core, but instead is a comedy about the crazy twists and turns of fate that befall a family, which finds itself again.
(English subtitles)
If you wish, please bring your own snack and beverage.

SHIR LIBEYNU PEOPLE |
Our own Paula Wolfson in Cabaret Show on Apr.1!
Long-time member Paula Wolfson - award-winning performer, singer, musician, actor, choir leader, artist educator and all-round mensch - has been our cantorial soloist at Shabbat and holiday services for several years. Under the guidance of Rabbi Goldberg and our musical director, Chazzan Gesundheit, Paula has developed as a welcome presence on our bimah. She uses her natural warmth and incredible musical talent to enhance our musical offerings, liturgical and more.
Paula's list of stage, film and television credits and her other professional performing accomplishments are impressive. And she also works to bring the joy and benefits of music to other people for whom it makes a difference: She is currently the director of the extremely popular Singing with Parkinson's, and has worked with Alzheimer/Dementia patients, and children.
Paula's latest project is an upcoming "coming of age" cabaret at the downtown Jane Mallett Theatre, on April 1st at 7:30 p.m. Her "I'm Still Here" promises to rock, serenade and delight us all. And we can stay afterwards for birthday cake! At the time of publication, there were still a few tickets available.
Mazel Tov and Happy Birthday to Paula, who will be on the bimah at Shir Libeynu again on April 15th (see above under April services)!
