Welcome to April at the Seashore! Spring flowers are starting to sprout, bird song rings through the air, and the weather brings new warmth into each day.
This month we have a great lineup of classes and programs—from birding to natural history to mindful movement—and an exciting announcement about our newest team member. We also have some important park closures in place and updates to share.

Ashley grew up in the Bay Area where the redwood forest became her first teacher, sparking a curiosity that led her to study environmental education, natural history, and agroecology at UC Santa Cruz. The southwestern end of Drakes Beach is temporarily closed until further notice due to the presence of elephant seals (i.e., to the right when facing Drakes Bay). More info here.

Drakes Estero, Double Point, and the western end of Limantour Spit are closed now through June 30 to protect harbor seals during putting season. More info here.

The restrooms at North Beach are closed until further notice for infrastructure repairs. The closest restrooms are at the Kenneth C. Patrick Visitor Center at Drakes Beach.

The park's garbage truck is undergoing maintenance and park staff are unable to collect refuse from the park's garbage cans and dumpsters until further notice. Please help protect wildlife by packing home all trash.
