" Alice's Ordinary People"

Illinois filmmaker Craig Dudnick will present his new documentary , which focuses on Alice Tregay, an unsung heroine of the Civil Rights Movement, who refused to stand still for injustice and brought others together to bring about change. Her remarkable story spans the historic period from the marches of Dr. Martin Luther King to the election of Barack Obama. Dudnick will speak about the circumstances which drew Alice Tregay to the Civil Rights Movement and how he came to make the film.
Concert "Visiting Harp"

Local harpist & retired United Methodist pastor Frederick Boyle will present a concert of popular American & Irish folk music as well as spiritual songs on his Celtic harp accompanied by guitarist Val Gray. Some of the featured songs include Blowin' in the Wind, Edelweiss, I'll Fly Away, Shenandoah, Where Have All the Flowers Gone?, and Green Sleeves.

Equity actress and professor Dr. Diane Cypkin will sing the hits of these two iconic artists and share their personal stories to bring their music and their era to life. Songs to be performed include T ennessee Waltz, Doggie in the Window, and Old Cape Cod (sung by Patti Page) as well as Que Sera Sera, Secret Love and It's Magic (sung by Doris Day). Pianist Lena Panfilova will accompany Dr. Cypkin.

Children's Art Contest & Show
during month of April

The Women's Club of Caldwell and the Library recently sponsored an art contest for children in grades 1-3 who created an original piece of artwork using the theme "I Spy Nature in My Town." The drawings and paintings are on display on the glass wall in the Children's Dept. during the month of April. The winning art works have 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize ribbons attached as well as honorable mention. The drawing on the left by Joanna Bellino won 1st prize in the 3rd grade category. Congratulations to all the winners!
