ArtWeek is back April 26 through May 5!
This year's celebration features nearly 600 events statewide (70 percent of which are free) in over 125 communities! Many of these events are interactive and and "behind-the-scenes," offering visitors and locals alike a unique opportunity to experience art, culture and creativity. From folk art to food art, mural painting to modern dance, and so much more, ArtWeek events are wide ranging, engaging and open to all. Since 1955, the Tony Award-winning
Williamstown Theatre Festival has brought America's finest actors, directors, designers, and playwrights to the Berkshires each summer. Each WTF season is designed to present unique opportunities for artists and audience alike, revisiting classic plays with innovative productions, developing and nurturing bold new plays and musicals, and offering a rich array of accompanying cultural events, including COMMUNITY WORKS, Late-Night Cabarets, readings, workshops, and educational programs. Spring is finally here, and that means Boston Marathon excitement is right around the corner! On Patriots Day, April 15, MetroWest will be home to two of the best marathon parties around. First, just a mile from the starting line, Hopkinton will host its annual
Marathon Spectacular at Weston Nurseries. Just down the road,
Downtown Framingham's annual Celebrate 6 party will also be in full swing. Both parties will feature race views, food and drink, live music, and tons of children's activities.

Back Roads of the South Shore symposium on Saturday, April 13 will focus on "The South Shore Meets the World: Cultural Exchange at Home & Abroad." Explore local history during this half-day symposium featuring speakers from area museums and historical societies highlighting recent scholarship and collections work. Topics include: The Legacy of Robert Bennet Forbes; Irish, Italian & Cape Verdeans in Scituate; Duxbury's Women at Sea; Briton Hammon - Slavery & the Sea; WWI diary and photos of Margaret Hall. Admission is $15 and includes refreshments.

Asparagus Valley Pottery Trail on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 is a driving tour through several western Massachusetts towns! Nine western potters will open their studios to the public for this 15th annual tour. The free event features the work and workspaces of nationally known host potters and 13 guest potters from throughout New England
. New guest potters and new work make for a tour that changes every year and reflects the vibrancy and diversity of handmade ceramics.

Celebrate the opening day of Heritage Museum & Gardens' 50th season at the
Spring Fling Event from 2 to 7 pm Saturday, April 27! Experience the mobile food and craft beer movements, while spending time outdoors with friends and family. Listen to live music from The Oysters Duo while dining al fresco on some of the area's best-known food trucks in the lush gardens of Heritage. In addition, get an up-close view of one of Heritage's vintage automobiles on display outside (weather permitting), and enjoy all the exhibits and exquisite gardens after normal operating hours. Adults can sample beers from local breweries while the kids play outdoor games.
