Building the Construction Workforce for MA

Employer Input Needed

construction_hard_hat.jpg

As the Commonwealth continues to address the workforce needs of employers, the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is updating several of their Construction-related programs that produce graduates with the skills and credentials employers want and need.

DESE is eager to gather input from employers in specific areas of Construction on the essential skills and credentials of value for employers. There are two easy ways for employers to add their voice and experience to the process: taking a survey or attending a virtual conversation with others in their industry.

For those who wish to take a survey, here are the links for specific Career and Technical Education (Chapter 74) programs that train students in these facets of construction:

  • Cabinetmaking:

  • Sheet Metalworking:

  • Painting and Design Technologies:

The surveys are anonymous and are key to ensuring future talent has the skills needed for future workforce success. Thank you for your time.

If you’d prefer to participate in a virtual conversation about the talent you need, please send an email to Tracey.Bryan@p2c.org with the program area(s) you’d like to inform.

We are eager to hear from you! Thank you so much for your time and your voice in building the future of the Commonwealth’s construction talent!
