Outdoor Living Returns

Hello April,

April might be one of the most beautiful months in Charlotte. Everything is in bloom, the weather is just right, and it finally feels like we can fully settle into life outdoors again—windows open, evenings on the patio, and weekends spent outside.

We’re sharing a few favorite spots, what’s in season, and a handful of simple ways to refresh your home this month.

An Update on the Charlotte Market 📊

Here's what we've seen over the last month or so.

Neighborhood Spotlight 🔦 Myers Park

Classic, tree-lined, and effortlessly beautiful—Myers Park is one of Charlotte’s most iconic neighborhoods, known for its winding streets, historic homes, and canopy of mature oaks.

Local Favorites

  • The Jimmy â€“ A neighborhood staple for Italian
  • Selwyn Pub â€“ Casual, easy, and always a good time
  • Freedom Park â€“ A Charlotte classic, perfect for walks, picnics, and spring afternoons
  • Queens Road West for some of the prettiest drives in the city

In Season This Month 🍽️

Spring produce is officially here:

  • Strawberries
  • Lettuce and spring greens
  • Fresh herbs (basil, mint, parsley)

This is the time of year for lighter meals, simple salads, and anything that can be enjoyed outside.

Check out this easy pesto pasta recipe (using basil). Let me know what you think!

April Home Notes 🗒️

A natural time to refresh and reset your space:

  • Power wash patios, porches, and exterior surfaces
  • Add fresh plants or flowers to your front entry or outdoor areas
  • Check irrigation systems and outdoor water lines
  • Swap heavier textiles for lighter fabrics (throws, bedding, pillows)

Things To Do in Charlotte 📆

April weekends tend to fill up quickly—in the best way:

  • Spring festivals and garden tours around the city
  • Outdoor markets and pop-ups
  • Picnics at Freedom Park or along the greenways
  • Patio dining at your favorite spots as the weather warms up

It’s a beautiful time to be in Charlotte, and one of my favorites to enjoy everything the city has to offer.

Cheers,

Harper Fox
