Members of Arc Broward’s 1956 Society and special guests recently gathered at Arc Culinary in Sunrise for a meaningful evening celebrating 70 years of impact—centered on hope, belonging, and opportunity.
Nan Rich offered a toast in honor of Arc Broward’s extraordinary 70-year commitment to serving individuals with disabilities and their families across Broward County. Among the evening’s distinguished guests were Beatriz and Albert Miniaci, whose leadership generosity marked a defining moment in the organization’s next chapter.
The Miniacis announced a $250,000 matching challenge through the Alfred and Rose Miniaci Family Fund to help establish the Arc Broward Endowment at the Community Foundation of Broward while also supporting the development of a specialized Aging Support Center for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and their caregivers.
A highlight of the evening included words by Joy and Todd Wolk, parents of Lizzie, an Arc Educates graduate of the culinary arts certificate program. The Wolks shared that, after successfully completing the program, Lizzie became a valued employee at Amerant Bank Arena. They credit Arc Broward for believing in Lizzie and helping the family experience belonging in a way they had previously only imagined, with Lizzie gaining confidence, communication and life skills, friendship and joy in the process.
These are the lives your support makes possible.
As we celebrate this milestone year, we invite you to join the 1956 Society and be part of what comes next—ensuring individuals with disabilities continue to have opportunities to thrive for generations to come.
