April is volunteer month, a month dedicated to honoring the significant contributions volunteers make by generously donating their time and talents. 2,585 volunteers contributed 8,681 hours of service to Cedar Valley Habitat in 2021. That donated time is worth $247,755.74 according to Independent Sector. The support of our volunteers magnifies our impact, and we are blessed to have you as part of our team. Thank you!
Construction updates
Work is nearly complete on the Derecho Rehab home in Cedar Rapids! Last week, members of the 411th Engineer Company performed finish work on the inside, including installing cabinets and trim.

Alpho and Papy are the future homeowners, and have already finished their sweat equity partnership with Habitat. Their family will be able to move into the home this Summer!

Women Build: Make & Take Planter Class
May's Women Build hand and power tool class will feature a DIY project: Building your own planter! This session would be a great night out for a mom and her child, or any individual, to learn a new skill and take home something to be proud of. For safety reasons, participants must be 16 or older.

Volunteer Spotlight: Steve
Steve began volunteering with Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity after he retired eight years ago. Since then, he's become a Crew Leader, volunteering with Habitat on a weekly basis. He regularly volunteers with the monthly St. Pius X group. He is pictured here with former mayor Ron Corbett during the Sweet Home Cedar Rapids build in 2017. Of volunteering with Habitat Steve says, "I like working with the crews and the end product of a family having a home."
