One Book Boca, annual volunteer luncheon, and more!

Hello Friends!

This month we celebrate our libraries and librarians during National Library Week (April 7th -13th). There will be a proclamation ceremony by Boca City Council (April 9, 6pm at City Hall) and the library's upcoming community reading event, One Book Boca.

The Friends are extremely proud to fund this year’s featured author, Chitra Banjeree Divakaruni, an internationally acclaimed writer whose best selling novel One Amazing Thing is the library’s selection for this year’s community read. Register below to join us on Saturday, April 13th to meet and discuss the book with the author, and to join the community book discussion on April 18th!

As our season winds down, we encourage you to browse our website blog for articles about the Friends activities, join one of our two monthly book club discussions, or view our ongoing art gallery exhibitions at the Spanish River Library.

ANNUAL VOLUNTEER LUNCHEON

April is National Volunteer Month. We invite all our volunteers to attend our Annual Volunteer Luncheon on April 15th (check your email for your invitation), where we will pay tribute to a few long-time volunteers and Friends members.

Community Event - One Book Boca

Meet bestselling author Chitra Banjeree Divakaruni for an author talk and book signing of her internationally acclaimed book, One Amazing Thing, chosen as this year’s One Book Boca community reading experience. In One Amazing Thing, when an earthquake traps them together, nine desperate people decide to share “one amazing thing” from their lives—a personal tale they’ve never told anyone before.

Books will be available for purchase and signing after the talk.
