Hello Mission Rivers!
The Missions Committee finds itself in the unusual position of having additional Missions
grant money to offer district churches and groups. We received $64,413 in grant
requests in December and awarded $66,441 in grants.
That leaves us with $33,559 to award this spring. The form has been updated and the
spring deadline is May 15, 2025. Please note that this grant will also need to be spent by December 31, 2025.
If you have any questions or need any additional information, please let us know. You can contact Lisa at lisajones@vaumc.org or 757.596.3476.

Easter Egg-stravaganza!
Join us for our Easter Egg-stravaganza, to be held from 10 am -12 noon on Saturday, April 12. This is an event open to the community at large. Children ages 2-12 are invited. A parent must also attend.
Our Egg Hunt will begin at 10 AM sharp, so don't be late! Younger and older kids will have a separate hunting ground for eggs, and children will be provided with goodie bags for their found eggs as well. The egg-citement won't end there though! We'll also have a giant slide in addition to our playground, a bounce house for younger children, as well as a special Easter Pony guest! It'll be a morning of nonstop fun here at Crooks Memorial, and we hope to see you there!

Colonial Beach UMC, 1 Washington Ave., Colonial Beach, VA 22443, has been busy! The UWF sponsored a St. Patrick's Day baked Potato Luncheon after Sunday Worship. A few days later, town churches joined with CB UMC for a Community Lenten Worship service followed by a Soup Luncheon. One of the soups was made with left over baked potatoes! Church members made delicious soups with enough leftover to share (that evening) with the UMM for their monthly meeting.
On Friday of the same week, CB UMC sponsored an Art Social, welcoming artists, families, children, and the community to enjoy an evening of art, fun, and fellowship. What a week of blessing, serving the community and one another, sharing Christ's love.
