True wealth is not measured in money or status or power.
It is measured in the legacy we leave behind for those we love and those we inspire.

Breaking News!
Montana just passed a bill to give rebates on
property taxes and income taxes.
HOW MUCH DO I QUALIFY FOR?
If you were a full-year Montana resident who paid your state taxes in 2020 and 2021 income on time, you should receive a rebate of up to $1,250 for your 2021 taxes. If you meet those requirements but paid less than $1,250 in 2021, you should have your entire payment refunded.

Hello Friends and Clients,
Is it finally spring in Montana yet? Whatever spring means to you, (Easter, Passover, planning your garden, or getting out to golf and jog), make it a happy one. Here is what spring means to me...
The Best time to Sell!
April 16-22 starts the countdown’s for sellers
and the sweet spot to list your home.
Start planning now!
According to House Logic and Realtor.com, we expect the 2023 housing market to behave similarly to 2021, 2022 and pre-pandemic years in terms of seasonality. The week of April 16-22 is expected to have the ideal balance of housing market conditions that favor home sellers, more so than any other week in the year. Click here to see the stats.
Here's my best advice based on 20 years of selling real estate in the Flathead through all kinds of economic conditions. If you're thinking of selling your home this year, the time to list is NOW! According to the National Association of Realtors, 41% of homes sold last month were on the market for less than 30 days! If you list now, you will statistically have a better chance to sell in the next few months, setting yourself up for the most exposure. That being said, if you are thinking about buying or selling a property, let me help you meet those goals. I'll listen to your wants and needs, and together, we'll set your expectations based on our current market conditions. Remember, not every buyer is looking for a mortgage and many buyers are looking for a safe and stable place to put their money.
This is not the time for timidity but rather a time for new and bold thinking. I am known for walking all the way with my clients, giving them everything I have and never letting them slip. Times may have changed but I have not. My knowledge, experience and creativity will help you meet your needs. If you want to make a change, we can and will do it--together. Call me, we'll make it happen.
On that note and from our home to yours, we wish you the happiest and healthiest of times and I thank each of you for your friendship. This is a season for everything new!
As Ever, Denise

CERI PONDERS...How do we love a Corgi (and I have learned to be a poet, too!)
|
|
During the long winter nights, I took to writing poetry. Inspired, I tried my hand at a love poem to my humans. What do you think?
How do you love me? Let me count the ways
You love me to the depth, breadth and height that my diminutive stature and tiny stomach can love a full dinner with a tasty snack followed by whatever you are drinking.
You love me freely, purely and with passion even when I go flying through the house on an unexpected whim unable to hold myself together, as though I am being chased by my ancient Fairy Folk.
You love me with a love I cherish as my mind turns to mush when we cuddle together on the couch and you rub me in all my favorite places. You love me and I love you with all the breath, smiles and experiences of our lives together (yes, Corgis' smile).
I adapted my poem from one by Elizabeth Barret Browning. To learn how to love a Corgi, click here.

DENISE'S COOKING CORNER - Asparagus Goat Cheese Tarragon Tart
|
|
I make this every Spring and it’s a beautiful thing!
INGREDIENTS
1 large egg, lightly beaten, at room temperature
1 large garlic clove, finely grated or minced
1 ½ tablespoons chopped fresh tarragon leaves, plus more for serving
½ tablespoon finely grated lemon zest
½ teaspoon fine sea salt, plus more for sprinkling
Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
1 cup crème fraîche, at room temperature (8 ounces)
All-purpose flour, for dusting the work surface
1 sheet or square all-butter puff pastry, thawed if frozen (about 9 to 14 ounces; brands vary)
8 ounces thin asparagus, woody ends trimmed
Extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
PREPARATION
Heat oven to 425 degrees. In a medium bowl, use a fork or a wooden spoon to mash together the goat cheese, egg, garlic, tarragon, lemon zest, salt and nutmeg until smooth. Switch to a whisk and beat in the crème fraîche until smooth.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry into a 13-by-11-inch rectangle about 1/8-inch thick. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined cookie sheet. With a sharp knife, lightly score a 1/2-inch border around the edges of the puff pastry.
Spread the crème fraîche mixture evenly inside the scored border. Line up the asparagus spears on top, and brush them with olive oil. Sprinkle some salt and the grated Parmesan over the asparagus. Bake until the pastry is puffed and golden, 25 to 30 minutes. Let it cool on the cookie sheet for at least 15 minutes or up to 4 hours before serving. Then sprinkle black pepper, red-pepper flakes (if using), the shaved Parmesan and tarragon leaves. Drizzle a little oil on top.
TIP
You can assemble the tart 1 day in advance but reserve the sprinkling of salt and grated Parmesan until right before baking. Loosely cover the tart and store it in the refrigerator until it's time to bake.

DENISE'S READING CORNER - The Paris Seamstress by Natasha Lester
|
|
This narrative fits my ethos perfectly as I am fascinated by WWII stories, particularly ones about women. The added twist is a dual timeline—1940 and 2015.
The Paris Seamstress
1940. Parisian seamstress Estella Bissette is forced to flee France as the German Nazis advance on her country. She is bound for New York, specifically Manhattan, with a few francs, one suitcase, her sewing machine, and the American dream of having her own design studio.
2015. Australian curator Fabienne Bissette journeys to New York’s annual Met Gala for an exhibition of her beloved grandmother's work - one of the world's leading designers of ready-to-wear. But as Fabienne learns more about her grandmother's past, she uncovers a the real truth.
I bet you can start to guess the drama that ensues with the twists, turns, tragic surprises and hidden secrets in this novel of a grandmother and granddaughter and how much a woman will sacrifice to make her mark in a whole new society.
