Combined Gas Phase and Aqueous Measurements
Qubit's unique Aquatic Q-Boxes allow metabolic rate measurements in submerged samples, as well as combined aqueous and gas phase head-space measurements. We offer fuel cell and optode O2 analyzers, and provide unique accessories for monitoring both gas phase and dissolved CO2 using our high resolution NDIR CO2 analyzers. Our simple but sophisticated control systems allow accurate regulation of the aqueous environment (temperature, pH, salinity, DO2, DCO2 etc.).

Why Q-Boxes are Better

Qubit Systems has been designing and building respirometry systems for 25 years. We are research scientists who understand research requirements, and we respect research budgets. We offer customized solutions at very attractive prices, with complete systems starting at less than $8,000 US. Moreover, we are renowned for offering the best support of any scientific instrumentation company.

The technicians at Qubit are outstanding; they were able to modify the system to suit our particular needs and they have always been quick to respond when technical support was required.

Q-Box Features

  • Configurable for open flow, stop-flow or intermittent flow operation.
  • Automated multi-channel systems available.
  • Sequential or parallel measurements.
  • Baseline tracked and interpolated between sample measurements.
  • Automated computation of rate data.
  • Raw data collected and saved.
  • Set-up files provided for quick-start - easily modified by the user.
  • Temperature control and pressure correction for the most stable data.
  • High resolution analyzers and sensors.
When purchasing a new gas exchange system for research purposes, I took a chance with Qubit Systems. They claimed to produce a competitive system at almost half the price of those of more established companies. I am pleased to say I am entirely happy with my decision.
