Greetings Aquila Community,
As the cold of winter swirls around us, we hope you'll take advantage of the opportunity to warm up this weekend at the Aquila Theater's Friday and Saturday productions of Moana Jr. Heartfelt thanks to all of the students, staff and family members who have made this experience - whether as cast or audience members - possible for each of our learners. Next week will certainly also be an exciting one. On Monday, 2/10, we will recognize NAAPID with a family gathering. On Thursday and Friday, 2/13 & 2/14, we are looking forward to welcoming all of our families into the building for Family Connect times.
Additionally, on Thursday, 2/13, Aquila will recognize friendship and community. Across SLP elementary schools, we do not celebrate Valentine's Day with parties, cards, and treats. Instead, teachers may do special activities that build friendship and community. There is no need to send cards and treats to share.

February ~ I Love To Read Month | |
Home Reading Challenge - BINGO | |

The AQ PTO and the Aquila Library Media Center have planned some special activities for I Love To Read Month in February.
Students will be bringing home a BINGO Reading sheet.
Fill out the form and return to the Library by Friday, February 28. Students will receive a bookmark and be entered in a drawing for a Target gift card.
This is an optional activity. Reading can be independent or with a family member. Have fun!

Aquila Girls On The Run (GOTR) | |

Aquila is thrilled to be able to host one Girls on the Run (GOTR) team this spring!
Registration will be open from February 1-7 with a lottery held for a team of 20 participants in grades 3-5. You must register between February 1-7 to participate in the lottery. Please only register for the lottery if your child is able to regularly attend practice both days of the week.
The spring GOTR program is 8 weeks long. Specifically, practice will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 2:15-3:45 pm from April 8-May 29 with a celebratory 5k held the weekend of May 31-June 1.
