Greetings Families,

Our brilliant students have completed almost two weeks of school! It has been so much fun connecting with students and families. Staff and students are hard at work creating and practicing school routines.

Next week is Homecoming Spirit Week, and we will have special dress up opportunities each day. Scroll down for more information about Homecoming festivities.

As students have now had practice with their morning routines, we encourage families to let their students walk independently to their classrooms. If you visit Aquila, don't forget to stop in the front office, sign in, and get a visitor's badge. Ensuring that all visitors sign in and wear a visitor's badge is essential to the safety of our site.

If you are picking up your child in the afternoon using the car lane by the the playground doors, please do not skip the line and idle your car in the middle of the parking lot. Additionally, students should not cross through the car lanes. If you are unable to wait in the car line, please park your car and meet your student on the sidewalk.

Volunteer Opportunity! We are looking for volunteers to help in the Aquila cafeteria. Volunteers would help keep tables clean and engage with students. Click here to sign up. Thank you!

Paz,

María & Olivia

Talent Development ~ Grades 3, 4, 5

Lisa Bottolene is Aquila's 3-5 Talent Development Teacher. This will be her fourth year of teaching Talent Development. She is looking forward to seeing so many familiar faces and developing new relationships with students she has not had the opportunity to work with yet.

All students come to TD twice a week for an hour. Similar to K-2 Talent Development, all learning engagements operate under the STEAM (Science, Technology, Education and Human Development, Art, Math) umbrella.

Ms. Bottolene has three kids. One headed to college in California and Ms. Bottolene is busy watching the other two play the sports they love. When she's not at Aquila, she enjoys reading, walking her dog and spending time with friends and family.

Library Media Center

It has been wonderful welcoming students in the Library Media Center. We have enjoyed great read alouds, practicing routines, and using building toys to make some neat structures.

Please help your student remember to return and take good care of their library books. Click here for more information about expectations.
