Greetings Aquila Families,

We are so excited to see you all at this afternoon's Meet Your Teacher event from 4:00-6:00 PM. This is an opportunity for students and families to connect with teachers and community, look over grade-level curricular materials in the gymnasium, make sure that your PowerSchool and Seesaw logins are working and up to date and to celebrate the start of the 24-25 school year.

This is a gentle reminder that the Aquila community has agreed that toys, games, and valuable items (including cell phones) should not come to school, unless specifically arranged. If they go missing, it creates mistrust that can’t be fixed, and we are not able to replace these items.

Attendance Line

It is important that you call Aquila's attendance line each day that your child is not attending school.

Please call 952-928-6507 each day your child will be staying home due to illness or other reasons.

Please state your child's name, teacher's name, date of absence, and reason for absence. Thank you!

Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures

Morning Student DROP-OFF

Opens at 7:28 AM and closes at 7:43 AM.
Pull as far forward as possible, forming two lanes upon entering the parking lot.
Only allow your child(ren) to exit the vehicle on the sidewalk side.
Students should walk to Door 1 (front doors) to enter.

Afternoon Student PICK-UP

Please do not arrive prior to 2:10 PM. Dismissal will begin at 2:15 PM.

Meet Marriah Foudray ~

Grade K, 1, 2 Talent Development Teacher

Welcome back students and families!

I am excited for students to share with me a year of exploration, investigation, and excitement of learning. I would like to formally introduce myself to the new kindergartners and students and their families to the Aquila community. My name is Marriah Foudray and I am the K-2 Talent Development teacher. I am gearing up for another exciting year packed with STEAM focussed learning. (Science, Technology, Education & Human Development, Art, and Math)

I would like to personally invite all families to Meet Your Teacher tonight, Thursday August 29 from 4:00-6:00 PM. I will be in room 127 and have tables which will include activities for you and your child to explore and hopefully ignite curiosity. This is a drop in and out opportunity for families to experience a small glimpse of all the fun that will happen throughout the year. There are other opportunities as well to celebrate your child’s learning.

During the year, K-2 students will have one community event (held at Aquila) per grade level. The goal of this event is to have students share their learning with families. Please save these dates that will happen throughout the school year.

Kindergarten: Science Observation Night, Tuesday, November 19
First Grade: Blue Whale Architecture Showcase, evening of Tuesday, March 20
Second Grade: Talent Development STEAM Showcase, Thursday, May 22

You will learn more about times when we get closer to the event. 🙂 You are welcome to join the fun as well. I am always looking for volunteers throughout the year. Look for further communication as times are needed, or contact me if you have further inquiries.
