Disney’s Moana JR. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the 2016 Disney animated film, bringing the adventures of Moana and her village of Motunui to life onstage. Moana JR. features all the beloved songs from the film, written by Tony®, GRAMMY, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, including “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny,” and “You’re Welcome.”


This thrilling and heartwarming coming-of-age story follows the strong-willed Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana and the legendary demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie as both learn to harness the power that lies within. With empowering messages of bravery and selflessness, Moana JR. is sure to bring out the hero within each of us.


Audition Information:

*Students received a QR code for all Audition Information. You can also click here for Information and a link to Google form.

*Students need a completed, signed Google form to audition.

*Students should prepare 30 seconds of a song, sung without an accompaniment.

*Pick one of the audition scripts/slides to read for your acting audition. Click here for scripts.

*Cast announced Tuesday, November 19.


Audition Day:

*Students should meet in the front foyer after school is out.

*Follow the signs on the wall as to where to place your backpack and gear.

*If you attend Kids Place, please sign in first before coming to auditions.


Important Information:

*First Rehearsal is on Monday, November 25 from 2:15-4:00. This is the only Monday Rehearsal.

*Full Cast Rehearsals are every Tuesday from 2:30-4:00.

*Fifth Graders rehearse almost every Thursday as well.

*Students need a ride home at 4:00PM.

*February 3 and 4 are Tech Rehearsals at the MS from 2:30-7:00 PM

*Performances:

-Friday, February 7 at 7:00 PM

-Saturday, February 8 at Noon

Aquila Girls on the Run Fundraiser

Girls on the Run (GOTR) teams complete a Community Impact Project to conclude the season. Our Wednesday/Friday Team is having a HOT COCOA & BROWNIE STAND and will donate proceeds and clothing items to Prism a nonprofit organization that supplies dignity-centered resources to community members in need.


The stand will be set up TOMORROW, Friday, November 8 near the Cedar Lake Trail at 31st Street across the street from Aquila from 2:15-3:15 PM. Please come by, say hello, and treat yourself to hot cocoa and a brownie! Venmo will be accepted. Thank you!

District News ~ SLP's Commitment and Expectations During Election Season

We'd like to remind our entire school community that regardless of the outcome of this election, our commitment to supporting students and families remains steadfast. 


We are here to provide consistency, structure, and a supportive learning environment that upholds high expectations. District News ~ Parent & Community Advisory Committee

The superintendent is seeking parents and community members that represent SLP’s student demographics to advise on students’ experiences in an effort to ensure that the district is meeting our stakeholders needs while staying relevant to current educational research. We are seeking 8 parents and 5 students to be a part of this group. If you are interested, email communications@slpschools.org.

District News ~ Mayor for a Day Essay Contest

To enter, fourth, fifth, and sixth graders can answer the prompt, “What would you do if you were mayor for a day?” for a chance to win $100 and recognition in Minnesota Cities magazine.


The deadline for submissions is Friday, December. 13. Students and parents/guardians can submit essays via an online form, a PDF email attachment, or through the mail. Winners only will be notified in early January. Some cities may provide additional local recognition for participants.



How can you submit your essays?

There are three ways to send us your students’ essays.

  • Submit online – students can enter their essays into this online form and submit them directly.
  • Print and Mail – you can print this document for students to handwrite their essays and then mail them in to 145 University Ave. W, Saint Paul, MN 55103.
  • Email as an attachment – students can type their essays into the fillable PDF, save the document, and then email the finalized PDF to mayorforaday@lmc.org.
