Greetings Aquila Community,

We are entering the final days of our annual PTO giving campaign, the funds from which go directly to supporting our students and community. On Tuesday, November 26, our staff and students will have the opportunity to gather at an assembly in celebration of Aquila Gives. We are incredibly grateful for your support and for the leadership of our PTO !

As we trend towards colder weather, we want to share our temperature standards for winter recess. Our students will have outdoor recess as long as the temperature, with windchill, is -10 degrees or above. Please be sure to send your students with necessary gear (jacket, hat, gloves, snow pants, and boots) each day. If your student needs winter gear, please let their classroom teacher know.

There will be no AQ Communicator next week due to the short week.

Items not claimed by tomorrow, Friday, November 22 will be donated.

Reminder About Unexcused Absences and Tardies

Arriving after 7:45am is considered an Unexcused Tardy

Unexcused Tardies and Unexcused Absences count toward each student's attendance record. For the best student results and experience, it's important for all students to be on time each day.

For parents picking up their students in the afternoon from Parent Pickup, please arrive to the school by 2:10pm to ensure student dismissal goes smoothly each day; and, as the weather gets colder, it's important for parent pickup to be quick and efficient for all students and staff.

SLP High School Theater Department ~

Donuts With Dorothy!

Calling all kids ages 2-12!

On Saturday, November 23 at 11:00 AM the St. Louis Park High School Theater Department will present a shortened version of the musical, The Wizard of Oz, followed by snacks with the cast and crew in the new high school cafeteria. Additional activities include: face painting, behind-the-scenes demonstrations, and photo opportunities.

Tickets are limited, so buy yours now.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Hello Aquila Families!

I am the school occupational therapist! As winter approaches, I wanted to share this tool with you and your littles. This is a little visual representation of the snow gear sequence and a song to go with it. My hope is that it will support a speedy transition to the outdoors in the winter months at school and home! St. Louis Park Public Schools sees, inspires and empowers each learner to live their brilliance. As our world continues to evolve, our roadmap to enhance the lives of our students, staff, and community members needs to evolve too.

We are proud to announce that St. Louis Park Public Schools is creating a new strategic plan that will launch in 2025. The new strategic plan is being created by SLP students, staff, families, and community members who are part of our focus groups, community conversations, and planning meetings.
