Greetings Aquila Community,
As we close out the 24-25 school year, our team would like to take a moment to reflect on all the wonderful memories, growth, and achievements we’ve shared as an Aquila community this year. Our students have made incredible progress in reading, writing, math, science, and more! We are so proud of their hard work and curiosity. From our Autumn Dance to Field Day, and all of the field trips and PTO-sponsored events, our students have made lasting memories together. To Aquila's 2025 Fifth Grade Class, we wish you all the best as you move on to middle school. We will miss you and are so proud of all you’ve accomplished!
A heartfelt thank you to all our families for your support throughout the year - whether you volunteered, sent in supplies, or cheered on our students from home, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and partnership in making this year a success! We hope that each of you have a safe, restful, and fun-filled summer break. We look forward to seeing everyone back in the fall, ready for another great year!
Paz,
María & Olivia

Second, third, and fourth grade caregivers, do you have a child who likes to run or move their body? And/or one who wants to learn about managing their emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy? If so, Girls on the Run (GOTR) is for them!
Aquila intends to host one GOTR team again next fall for third through fifth graders. The program will run early September through early November with twice weekly after school practices on Tuesdays & Thursdays with a season-culminating 5k in early November. If more than 20 register for the program, GOTR MN will conduct a lottery for spots on the team, so you must register between August 1-7, 2025. | | | District News ~ Cart Art in the Park Contest | | |
Through the new Cart Art in the Park contest, members of the St. Louis Park community are able to submit original artwork that reflects the theme of organics recycling to be displayed on organics carts at multifamily drop-sites. Residents living in apartments, townhomes and condos can use these carts to dispose of their food scraps instead of throwing them in the trash. Food scraps are then composted, and the resulting compost can be used to create nutrient-rich soil for gardening and landscaping.
The winning artwork will be displayed as a two-dimensional, 11-inch by 17-inch decal on organics carts at the 11 multifamily organics drop-sites located throughout the city for a minimum of one year.
Your art could inspire more residents to sign up for city organics programs and divert their food scraps from the garbage!
