Arboretum Display Garden
Northwest Flower & Garden Show runs from February 22 to 26, and once again we'll be presenting a garden display. This year's display is inspired by a traditional Japanese farmhouse and garden, depicted during
Hanami, the annual spring viewing of the cherry blossoms.
Seattle is currently going through a major spurt of growth and redevelopment. In the latest issue of the
Arboretum Bulletin, Plant Amnesty's Cass Turnbull writes about the importance of preserving our green infrastructure during the development boom.
One of the Arboretum's most famous horticultural introductions,
Mahonia 'Arthur Menzies', is putting on a lovely flower show all around the park. Read about the history and ornamental features of this stunning winter-blooming hybrid.
Hundreds of shoppers came to Gifts & Greens Galore last Saturday to support the Arboretum! Despite a major meltdown of our shop computer, we had our best holiday sale ever! Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by and contributed to the success. A special thanks to all the marvelous volunteers who made the event possible!
Though we sold all 50 of our hand-crafted wreaths and most of the loose greens at the holiday sale, we still have some wonderful, nature-inspired merchandise in the
Arboretum Shop! Choose from woodland-creature tree ornaments to botanical jewelry. We've discounted our volunteer-made bird seed balls to $2 each.
