Greetings!
The month of September is full of excitement at the Arboretum. Not only are the Winterberries becoming red and Asters are blooming, but we have plenty of events and programs for you to enjoy.
Last night, we kicked off a month of excitement with a unique Storytime. A group of camp parents, nature enthusiasts, and Arboretum supporters joined staff for an evening of true stories from CHA Director, Tedor. This event was inspired by parents whose children come home from Nature Discovery camp sharing wild stories about Tiny Terrapins, Runaway Rhinos, Chaotic Cows, and Spunky Sealions.
At lunchtime during camp sessions, the first thing campers typically do is ask Tedor to tell them a story. It is a uniquely fun part of the day where campers get to learn about something preposterous that happened to Tedor throughout his long career in the environmental field, while also practicing listening, creative thinking, and problem solving skills. Last night was a chance to share some of these stories with our campers' parents, and anyone else who was intrigued by the idea.
We would like to give a big shoutout to Erin and Kim Moore for providing scrumptious tarts for our guests to enjoy throughout the evening.
Sincerely,
CHA Staff
