Arboretum News

Greetings from the Arboretum!

Did you know that Northern Cardinals are a great example of sexual dichromatism? This means we can distinguish between males and females based on their coloring. Did you also know that Pileated Woodpeckers are the largest living species of woodpecker in North America?

In preparation for our upcoming Trivia Night on March 10th, we have started sharing Feathered Facts like this on our Facebook and Instagram. We hope that this not only gets people interested in attending Trivia Night, but also helps readers learn something new about the natural world around us. If you follow us on social media, you will also see Wildlife Wins, a Wednesday post where we share news articles that feature conservation successes from around the globe.

We invite you to learn about amazing bird adaptations, incredible scientific discoveries, and successful conservation practices. Then join CHA staff and supporters at Pallet Brewing in Maplewood on March 10 at 7:00pm. Create a team, come as a pair, or test your individual skills. Trivia rounds will contain a mix of general knowledge as well as nature-based facts, and your ticket includes a drink of your choice. We love learning new things and we hope you do to!

We can't wait for you to join us.

Sincerely,

CHA staff
