2016  VPPPA Safety Summit
e-Hazard’s Bill Shinn will be speaking at the 2016 Region VIII VPPPA Safety Summit. Bill will be presenting the “7 Electrical Safety Habits for a Safer Workplace” during one of the breakout sessions. His presentation will take place on Thursday, April 28.

The VPPPA Safety Summit will provide opportunities for networking and safety education for employers and workers who have participated in the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). This program recognizes employers and workers who have implemented effective workplace safety and health management systems. These employers and workers strive to maintain injury and illness rates below national averages.

As a result of VPP, an advocacy group was formed. The Voluntary Protection Program Participants’ Association (VPPPA) is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1985. This organization works closely with OSHA and State Plan States in developing and implementing cooperative programs. The VPPPA also provides expertise to these groups in the form of comments and stakeholder feedback on agency rulemaking and policies. They also provide comments and testimony to members of Congress regarding legislative bills on health and safety issues.

The summit will take place April 26-28 at DoubleTree by Hilton Denver Tech Center in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
