Message from Principal Stevens
Dear Parents,
It is with pride that I am sending you this note. Today is the first day of school and we have just kicked off this 2017-18 school year with great success. Our teachers returned to work last week for inservice meetings and classroom work time. Their professionalism shined the entire week as they prepared their minds and their classroom environments for student arrival today.
While our teachers spent a professional week together, countless parent volunteers spent last week in our library facilitating student registration. I was impressed with the efficiency of the process, and I am fully aware that without our parent volunteers registration would not have been able to have been held. I would be remiss to not express my appreciation.
Now with the first day behind us, we begin to shift our attention from back to school logistics towards what truly matters - student achievement. As I type this message, our teachers are in classrooms with your students. They are working on delivering exceptional instruction, committed to working together as Professional Learning Communities, and anxious to meet the needs of each student at Arcadia. The administrative team, myself included, will work hard to not only manage the needs of the campus, but also to serve as instructional leaders to help teachers further refine their craft.
Arcadia offers our students many opportunities to connect to the school, both during class and beyond the school day. I encourage each of you to look for opportunities for your students to get involved on campus. These opportunities may include Student Government, athletics, our fine and performing arts programs, and after school clubs just to name a few. Involvement in one or more additional activity may not only provide a connection for your student, but it may also serve as a source of motivation to find success in the classroom.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with each of you. I wish you all a successful school year.
Todd Stevens
