What is the most requested item by our teachers, for our students? TISSUES! During t he month of November we encourage you to purchase tissues and drop them off in the front office to be distributed to our classrooms.  Bring a bundle or bring just one box, all tissues are needed.  Keep Arcadia germ free!

ACE Program at SCC  //  Applications Due Thursday 11/1
Achieving a College Education (ACE) is a nationally recognized, scholarship-based early outreach and college preparation program for high school students. The ACE Program targets students who may not consider going to college.
The mission of the ACE Program is to academically prepare students, increase graduation rates among first generation college bound students, and to assist students in making a seamless transition from high school into community college and then to transfer into a four-year university to complete a baccalaureate degree.  LEARN MORE >>

Balfour Senior Meeting // Wed, Oct 31st during 2nd Hr
There is a senior meeting presented by Balfour and Ms. Reddy on Wednesday October 31st. The meeting is in the auditorium starting at 2nd period. The 31st is an early release day, 2nd period begins at 8:31.

Meet the Students Who Run Their Own In-School Record Label
CMAS was recently named one of "Our 8 Favorite High School Music Programs in the US Right Now
After 10 years teaching band and orchestra, music educator Richard Maxwell has traded his traditional directorial role for one of an "executive producer" in the student-run label housed at Arcadia High School. With a (rarer than you'd think) focus on developing pre-professional skills needed in the world of music, this program shines as a beacon for how the model of a student-run record label can thrive nationwide. It would seem that the next generation of music entrepreneurs will have some pretty cool ideas for how to do things, and we can't wait to see what they think of!  READ MORE >>

Arcadia PTO will be hosting a Teen Suicide and Depression Prevention program, put on by Teen Lifeline.  Reservations are required due to the program being unable to accept more than 35 attendees.  PTO is working with them to see if we can accommodate more and will update as we are able.

SUSD Math Curriculum Review
October 15 - December 17th
Mondays thru Fridays, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

The SUSD PreK-12 Math Adoption Committee has created scoring rubrics, screened submissions and comprehensively evaluated many programs over the last several months. The committee is now in the final phases and will be hearing from select publishers on November 1, 2018. Visit the Mohave Annex to access the final programs and provide your feedback to the committee.
Arizona leaders adopt new history, science standards
The  curriculum  hasn't been updated since 2004. Supporters of the new curriculum say Arizona is behind the rest of the country when it comes to incorporating the latest science, and on Monday, the State Board of Education approved a plan to update science standards that were created by Arizona science teachers.    READ MORE >>
