Speech & Debate Needs Help!

Supplies & Volunteers Needed Dec 1st & 2nd
On Dec. 1 and 2 Arcadia will be hosting 50 schools at the Speech and Debate Winter Trophy Tournament.  Needed for those two days are food/drinks/snacks for the schools, judges, tournament teams, coaches, participants and guests. Any questions, please contact Clayton Guy at cguy@susd.org

Volunteers Needed
If you want to help in other ways, we could use people to:
  • watch the judges lounge for food shortages and restocking
  • helping the students sell food
  • being an ambassador to show people around the school
  • helping welcome people to Arcadia.

Student Senior Econ Classes sell swag at MARKET DAY in December every year. Please support our seniors by purchasing goods or services for their Econ class.  Parents are welcome come and shop the amazing array of all things Arcadia, or be sure to send money with your student. Be on the lookout for cozy fleece, fabulous tees, hats, totes, stickers and tons of other swag! Great items for gift giving--it is not to be missed!
Unitown Applications

Unitown is a national youth leadership and diversity development-training program that allows high school students to face and ultimately cross barriers that often divide them in school, addressing real issues that affect teens daily. Unitown brings together students of various backgrounds, and through honest and open dialogue about stereotypes and biases, empowers students to form strong peer relationships and to make their school/community more inclusive and accepting of diversity.

Balfour has extended their order date for caps and gowns and other catalog items. The senior student body have chosen blue as their cap and gown color for graduation.

Get your free Good Vibes Project Grad tee, designed by Gretchen Rea the graphic design winner, at the bookstore. All seniors names are included on the back of the tee. This is a great memento to wear all year long and to be worn the night of Project Grad. Project Grad is a party at CrackerJax on graduation night for all seniors, free of alcohol and drugs.   
AZ Civics Test
Required for Graduation - See Ms. Palatucci
The Arizona Civics test is a graduation requirement. Without taking this, you cannot graduate. Please see Ms. Palatucci to schedule a time to take this test and receive free testing resources.

Thanks to OHSO
Many thanks to OHSO Brewery for hosting our Arcadia Dad's Club Football Raffle event. OHSO was very generous, allowing us to reserve tables on the patio and serving an abundance of appetizers at our fundraiser.  Thank you to all the families who supported the event, we raised over $8,000 for our classrooms!

Season Home Opener - Wed, Nov 29th, JV 4 pm, V 6 pm
The Boys Varsity Soccer team scrimmaged against Camelback on Nov. 16, so coaches got a chance to test out players at different positions. Impressive showing by Arcadia! The Titans continue preparations for their season opener against highly-ranked Campo Verde on Wed. Nov. 29. Players & coaches would love to have a BIG crowd at the first home game, cheering them on to victory!

Cross Country
The Arcadia boys and girls cross country teams celebrated a successful season with their Year End Banquet on November 17. Both teams had qualified for the State Championships and completed the year with excellent times and finishes by all runners. Congratulations to the Seniors on the team - Dallas Greene, Luis Cerna, Race Tuomisto-Bell, Argon Stern, Jacob Staudenmaier and Awuoi Matiop. We will miss all of you! Thank you to Coaches Carl Tichenor and Sarah Boustila for an awesome year!

National Honor Society is hosting their annual Tavan Community Service project on  Friday, December 8th . Club members are in need of cases of bottled water. Tonalea Family in Need After Traumatic Event
Please donate items in AHS front office

A family at a sister SUSD school is in need. The family sends their students to Tonalea and has suffered a traumatic event in which they lost their possessions. There are 6 kids in the family, each in need of clothes. They are currently living in an apartment with no furniture. Their specific needs are detailed below. Any donations would be appreciated and can be dropped off at the Arcadia HS front office.
  • 8th grade girl - 13 years old
    Pants size 0, Top -M,  Shoes 5, underwear 12, Jacket M  
  • 6th grade girl - 11 years old
    Pants size 14, top - M, Shoes 5, underwear 14, Jacket M
  • 1st grade boy - 6 years old
