City of Phoenix Outstanding Young Man/Woman Award
The city of Phoenix Youth and Education Office is now accepting applications for the 2020 Outstanding Young Man/Young Woman (OYMYW) of the Year awards.  The OYMYW of the Year program recognizes and honors the outstanding achievements of young people, enhances the perception of youth and raises community awareness of the positive contributions of youth.  This awards program is open to any students currently enrolled in high school in Phoenix or live within Phoenix city limits.  Here's how it works:
  • One young man and one young woman will be selected as winners from each city council district and receive an award of $500.
  • In addition, each district-level winner will be eligible for an additional $1,500 award if they are selected as the citywide winners.

New AHS Football Head Coach Hired
Vance Miller is the new head varsity football coach at Arcadia High School sources close to the situation confirmed Tuesday. Miller helped guide Apache Junction High to winning seasons the past three years, turning around the program after being named the head coach before the 2014 campaign. He is quite familiar with his new surroundings. "After growing up in Scottsdale, I feel a lot closer to home," Miller said to Sports360AZ.com. Arcadia Cares : Food for Kidz Packathon
  The Sixth Annual Arcadia Cares: Food for Kidz packathon is fast approaching  on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Prince of Peace Church (56th Street/Indian School, Phoenix). The  entire Arcadia community is invited to participate in assembly line packing of meals for needy children and their families locally and internationally.   Volunteers Needed  for one-hour shifts starting at 8:15 AM. The final shift will conclude around 1:45 PM. All ages from three on up are welcome to participate.

Calling All Junior Girls
Scottsdale Honors Cotillion is hosting a FREE information Tea at 2 pm on April 26, 2020 at Ancala Country Club.  If you have a GPA of 3.0 or higher along with two or more extra-curricular activities, next year's program might be the perfect fit for you!  We are a year-long program that helps prepare high school seniors for college and beyond that meets 3 times a month. We help educate young women on how to prepare for college, dorm life or sororities. We offer speakers on leadership development, safety, empowerment, and etiquette and well as incorporate philanthropy.  Each spring, the women are "presented" to the Mayor of Scottsdale at our annual debutante ball.
