In an effort to be proactive and ensure that we are doing everything we can to protect the health and safety of students and staff during this period of heightened public health awareness, the District's Incident Command Team has been activated and met most recently on Friday, February 28, 2020.

This is a team of leaders specifically trained and resourced to respond to emergencies and includes the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education, the Chief Security Officer, the Director of Facilities, the Director of Finance, District Legal Counsel and Risk Management, a Psychologist/Clinical Services Coordinator from our Student Services Department and the Chief Communications Officer ( see page 8 for an in-depth story on this team).    READ MORE >>

AHS students come together to support one of their own

As an Arcadia High School sophomore, Jack Guzman's life was immersed in a kaleidoscope of rich and promising experiences. A member of the school's basketball team, his life revolved around school, friends and extracurricular activities such as cross country running.   Last fall, Jack broke some ribs when a friend playfully jumped on him. His story should have ended with a routine emergency room visit. Unfortunately, the incident was a portent of something much more serious; something no one saw coming.
In December, Jack was diagnosed with leukemia, a blood and bone marrow cancer affecting mainly children and teens.  CLICK HERE TO READ MORE >>

PTO Executive Board Positions for 2020-21
President Elect Open
The PTO is looking for volunteers to join the Executive Board for next year!  Job descriptions are available at  www.arcadiapto.org. It is a great way to get involved and support our amazing teachers!  Contact Linda Schlenker for more information at  advisor@arcadiapto.org or 602-576-3828.
Committee Chair Positions Open for 2020-2021

Project Graduation  - Help the graduating senior class celebrate their success with a fun filled, exciting evening at Cracker Jax.  It is a wonderful opportunity for the kids to have a great time with their classmates in a safe environment.  Project Grad is an Arcadia tradition that we have had for years so most aspects are already in place, but an event this big needs a chairperson to coordinate everything for the next class.  We are looking for families to pay it forward so senior families can just enjoy graduation.

Hospitality - Provide refreshments at school functions such as General PTO meetings and Principal Coffees. Commitment is 3-4 times per school year.

If you are available to help out on a committee or would like some additional information please contact Jessica Horonenko at  volunteers@arcadiapto.org.
