One Lunch 2018-19
Primary & Backup Volunteers Needed
Have you always wanted to volunteer for Arcadia One Lunch? Now is your chance! We are recruiting One Lunch volunteers for the 2018-2019 school year right now. One Lunch is a great Arcadia tradition and we couldn't do it without parent volunteers. It is a fun opportunity to be on campus, and the commitment is manageable and well-planned out. Most volunteers work one lunch period (less than an hour) every other week. You can also sign up for the sub list or you can split a shift with someone (meaning you only work a shift once a month). Please contact Karen Treon for more information or with any questions. (

Arcadia Celebrates 60 Years
by Mallory Gleich, Arcadia News, April 1st, 2018
Many schools have claims to fame, but not everyone can brag about having Steven Spielberg and Lynda Carter as former students. Arcadia High School is celebrating its 60
th anniversary, and those six decades have provided a host of memorable kids, teachers and moments.
The school was opened in 1958 and housed around 40 teachers and 750 students. The central point of the school was a circular structure in the courtyard called Mount Olympus, which rose to the second story of the school and still stands today. The original campus was designed by Ron Henscheid of Taliesin West and was thought to be "futuristic and unique."

Titans' senior outfielder takes leadership into 2018
by Max Bechtoldt, Arcadia News
Arcadia baseball coach Troy Gerlach describes senior Clay Wasson as quiet, laid back, funny and sarcastic. Although the senior outfielder's game isn't all about laughs. In the same breath, his coach also describes him as a leader both on and off the field. Wasson, a four-year varsity outfielder for the Arcadia Titans baseball team, first found his love of baseball from his father.
"My dad has been my teacher since I was a kid," Wasson said. "He loved it as a kid, so I decided that I wanted to play it too."

Reel Talk: Why do video game movies have trouble booting up?
by Eric Luse (AHS Teacher), Arcadia News
If comic book superheroes can reign supreme at the box office, why can't video game heroes? Some of the greatest characters in pop culture have had their reputations tarnished by bad movie adaptations. One of the most infamous was in transferring Super Mario to the big screen in 1993.
Most of the time these video game movies under-perform in the United States and end up doing well in other countries. Why don't American audiences accept video game movies or why are video game movies so terrible?
