Arcadia One Lunch Volunteers Opportunity

Arcadia's One Lunch allows everyone on campus to eat at
the same time. This allows for club meetings, extra help from teachers, informational meetings . . . all kinds of good things.  This wouldn't be possible without parents helping with lunch duties.  It is a fun and popular volunteer commitment.  Volunteers have a shift - typically once every other week but some people work only once a month - and they choose to work at the lunch carts, the lunch kiosk, or in the cafe as the line monitor.  Can you sign up to help next year?  We have some great spots left - including the coveted kiosk shifts!  Contact Karen Treon at  ktreon@gmail.com with any questions or to find a shift that works with your schedule.

Charros award Future Teacher Scholarship to AHS senior

Ashley Zubiate
While many her age had an idea of what they wanted do for the rest of their life, then-seventh grader Ashley Zubiate did not.

That all changed once Zubiate joined a program at her middle school called AVID and since that point, the Arcadia High School senior has had her sights set on working in education.

She'll have a chance to further reach that goal after the Scottsdale Charros named her one of two recipients of the Future Teacher Scholarship. The scholarship aims to encourage Scottsdale Unified School District high school seniors to pursue a career in teaching.   READ MORE >>
Arcadia High School 2018 Promposal Video in the News

Numerous Arcadia High School students participated in another Promposal video this year, which was featured on the local television stations. Senior Jacob Staudenmaier, working with multiple other Arcadia film students and friends, successfully created a movie trailer based on Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" movie in asking Senior Elle Overs to the Arcadia Prom.

Junior Dash McDonald was in charge of the cinematography and also helped with editing and sound work. Other Arcadia students involved in the production included: Christopher Smith, Argon Stern, Max Swiergol, Dallas Greene, Riley Johnson, Carson Charleton, Max McCauley, Mitch Arndt, Avery Greey, Sarah Schneider, Nikki Keller, Avery Moric, Luke Belalu, Luis Ayala, Gaby Schorr, and Mikko. Jacob, Elle and Dash were interviewed last Friday on "Good Morning Arizona" about the 2018 promposal video, which was a follow up to the viral Emma Stone/LaLaLand promposal in 2017.
