Students Must Return Textbooks, Library Books, and More
to Register for 2018-19 School Year
Did you know that students will not be able to register for Arcadia High School 2018-19 if they have any unreturned textbooks, library books, athletic gear, or fees on their account. Seriously ... this affects students every year, and it's not fun for anyone. Please search under the bed so you can enjoy the summer.

Important End of the Year Info
FOR ALL STUDENTS

Locker Clean Out by May 21st
$10 fee if any items in lockers
Lockers need to be cleaned out by May 21. If items are left in your locker you will be charged a $10.00 fee. You also will not be able to register for classes until all existing fees have been paid in full. Thank you Security

Yearbook Pickup & Purchase
$80 in Bookstore
All prepaid yearbooks are now in the bookstore if you were not able to pick them up during distribution. Also, you can purchase yearbooks directly from the bookstore for $80.

Book & Gear Return
All student are encouraged to return all textbooks by the end of the year.  This also includes library books and calculators ... if you've borrowed it from Arcadia High School, you need to return it!  Remember that you will not be able to register in the Fall until all books have been returned and any fines have been paid.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Thomas in the Bookstore.

2018-19 StuGo
If you want to join Stugo for next year, get a packet in Ms. Munn's room, 5606. Interviews will begin on Monday.

SENIOR PACKETS ARE HERE!
All the info students and parents need regarding the graduation ceremony, the Project Graduation party, and other important senior events. Students who did not get a packet need to check with their Gov/Econ teachers.

Google Drive File Transfer for Graduates 
You need to transfer whatever you want to keep from google drive to your personal account or computer. The district will delete your account shortly after graduation. Detailed instructions are in the Class of 2018 google classroom.

Civics Test Required for Graduation
Seniors, remember you must pass civics before you can graduate. If you need to pass civics please come to Ms. Palatucci's office to take the test.

Senior Survey
All Seniors should have filled out a senior survey. If you have not, please complete it as soon as possible. Copies are available in the College and Career Center. It only takes a minute to fill out and all seniors are required to to submit a senior survey.

Staff Appreciation Week was a delight, and the staff was thoroughly spoiled by the PTO.  Many thanks to Cori Jones and Nicole Zeff for leading the charge, and to all the volunteers who helped set up, break down, and serve. And to our excellent Arcadia staff who work so hard to provide the best education and environment for our students!

Senior Picnic was a Huge Success
Thank you to Isabel Feulner who chaired this year's senior picnic which was held at MidFirst Bank R&G Ranch.  Many thanks to our team of volunteers who helped serve, organize and clean throughout the event.  All your efforts are appreciated!

Arcadia One Lunch Volunteers Opportunity

Arcadia's One Lunch allows everyone on campus to eat at 
the same time. This allows for club meetings, extra help from teachers, informational meetings . . . all kinds of good things.  This wouldn't be possible without parents helping with lunch duties.  It is a fun and popular volunteer commitment.  Volunteers have a shift - typically once every other week but some people work only once a month - and they choose to work at the lunch carts, the lunch kiosk, or in the cafe as the line monitor.  We have some great spots left - including the coveted kiosk shifts!

Year End Concert
Friday May 18th, 7:00 pm, Auditorium

Join CMAS this Friday, in the auditorium, at 7pm for the CMAS end of the year concert, Songwriter Night. CMAS partner's with Technical Theater for this one, and it's truly an incredible event. It's going to be an amazing show! Come and sing along as we say goodbye to the school year, and our graduating seniors, with a show unlike any you've seen before!

Water Donations for Graduation Fundraiser
The National Honor Society is putting on their first charitable fundraiser and needs your help! They are collecting cases of 16oz water bottles to sell at graduation May 24th. All donations may be dropped off in the front office labeled "NHS" and will be accepted anytime up until graduation day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Six student written, directed, produced, cinematographed films, under the supervision of Film/ANN instructor Eric Luse, made their World Premiere at the 2018 Film Festival held on Monday, May 14, before a sold out crowd at the Harkins Shea 14 Theaters:

Beloved Hopi teachers Mrs. Ruderman and Mrs. Baldwin are retiring at the end of this year, but not without a show of how much we love them!  Join us for our very last community event in the Hopi Cafeteria v1.0 for some refreshments and photos with your teacher.

If you've been wanting to walk around the original Hopi campus one last time (before it's gone forever), this would be a great night to do it!

SUSD's latest acting superintendent tenure set for 123 days
Dr. John A. Kriekard was selected as acting superintendent by the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board on Friday, May 11, by a 4-1 vote.

Governing Board member Allyson Beckham was the dissenting vote.
Earlier that week, on May 7, the board voted 4-0 to direct legal counsel to notify Dr. John Kriekard and Dr. Milissa Sackos the board would like to interview them for the position of acting superintendent. READ MORE >>
SUSD ex-CFO indicted on 11 felony charges of fraud, conflicts of interest
Scottsdale Unified School District's ex-chief financial officer  faces 11 felony charges, two involving fraud and nine involving conflicts of interesttied to a consulting company she previously led and co-owned, according to the Arizona Attorney General's Office. 
Laura Smith was notified of the May 8 grand jury indictment on Monday. She is accused of failing to disclose her interest in a district vendor, Professional Group Public Consulting, and failing to remove herself from district decisions involving the Mesa-based consulting firm, according to Maricopa County Superior Court documents. Host a Foreign Exchange Student
These students and others like them, will be arriving August 2018 and they cannot wait to get the news of their American host family!
This family voluntarily provides their student with food, lodging, an open heart, and the opportunity to learn firsthand about American culture. Students have their own personal spending money, full health benefits, and the continual support of local AFS volunteers in the community.
