AHS Filmmakers "Orientation" Selected for Film Festival

at Jerome Film Festival
The AHS student film "Orientation" was the only High School entry accepted at the Fifth Annual Jerome Film Festival, Sept 7-10. The other films selected were all made by college film-makers. Current AHS students involved in the film were Jacob Staudenmaier (Director/Editor), Lindsay Formica (Screenplay Writer/Sound), and Heather DeGroote (Photography). The students are enrolled in Advanced Film-Making taught by ANN & Film Instructor Eric Luse.  The film concerns an awkward man who attempts to have a successful job interview, but it ends up going south very quickly. Cross Country
AHS Cross Country competed last Friday in the Tucson Desert Solstice Invitational which drew hundreds of elite runners & 50+ teams from all over Arizona. Girls Team finished 24th of a field of 51 teams. Boys Team took 28th out of a field of 56 teams.  READ MORE ยป

Recent Arcadia grad Allison Gooch and current senior Jacob Staudenmaier are  Arizona w inners of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals' 2017 Civics Contest, "Not to Be Forgotten - Legal Lessons of the Japanese Internment."
 
For their video entry, the Titan filmmakers tracked down and interviewed a retired Sun City doctor who, in his youth, was assigned to one of the World War II-era U.S. camps.  They were privileged to meet and receive their award from former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.    READ MORE >>
Key Club
Arcadia is proud to announce that Key Club is being reactivated and will be back on campus this year.  Key Club is an International service organization that provides opportunities for high school students to make a difference on their school campus and within the community.  Students can increase their leadership skills as well as build the role of being a good citizen.
