September 3, 2020

Parents/Guardians,

We would like to provide all of you with information regarding our first four days of school. September 9, 10, 11 and 14 will be days where only one grade is required to attend school. These days will be orientation, or re-orientation days for our students to introduce them to the changes at Archbishop Carroll for this upcoming year and to complete a few start-of-year tasks for each grade.

The schedule will be as follows:

Wednesday, September 9 - Class of 2021 reports - 12 PM dismissal
Thursday, September 10 - Class of 2022 reports - 12 PM dismissal
Friday, September 11 - Class of 2023 reports - 12 PM dismissal
Monday, September 14 - Class of 2024 reports - 1 PM dismissal

Only Sague buses will be running on these days. School districts will not be providing bus transportation.

On each day, students will be separated alphabetically into groups of 15-17 students as they participate in the following activities during the day:

  • Yearbook Photos (Grades 9-11 only)
  • Class meetings with the school administration via the TV Studio
  • Introduction to Schoology
  • Review of Emergency Procedures
  • Review of the new policies in place due to the Hybrid Environment
  • Locker assignments and tours of the one-way halls and stairways
  • Introduction to Sports and Activities (Grade 9 only)
  • Chromebook distribution (Grade 9 and New Transfer Students only)

All students are expected to be in their school uniform and adhere to the mask policy as described on our COVID information page on the school website. Lunch will be available for purchase only on Monday, September 14.

Students who have requested to begin the school year in an all-virtual setting will receive an e-mail on Friday, September 4, with directions specific to them and their orientation.

On the day prior to each grade’s orientation, an e-mail will be sent to all parents and students detailing the specifics for arrival and departure for each student.

While we are all looking forward to the start of a new school year and seeing all of our students again, we also are aware of the challenges that this reopening will provide for our students, their families, our faculty, and our staff. We will continue to work to address any challenges that present themselves in a way that will keep the health and safety of our community at the forefront of every decision we make.

We look forward to seeing you all again next week!
