Blatt Achieves the Rank of Eagle Scout
Senior Adam Blatt recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America. Adam began his scouting journey as a Cub Scout in first grade with Pack 694 at Immaculate Heart of Mary. During fifth grade, Adam bridged over to Boy Scouts with Troop 694. While a Boy Scout, Adam earned 33 merit badges and was elected into the Order of the Arrow, which is the Boy Scout's National Honor Society. While a Boy Scout, he served in various leadership positions, including two terms as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.

Adam's Eagle Scout Service Project took place at the
Comboni Missionary Center behind the Nagel Post Office. Adam led a team of Scouts and adults in tearing out old and overgrown landscaping on both sides of the West entrance of the Center and replacing it with new landscaping and an improved drainage system. Adam also built a bench and placed it in the new landscaping so children coming out of the Center's gym could sit while they wait for their ride. Adam and his team spent over 80 hours working on his Eagle Scout Service Project.

New school record for pasta bridges!

The architecture students finished up their pasta bridge breaking contest with a new school record! Each student was allowed 100 pieces of spaghetti to create a bridge. They were challenged to keep it structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing. The bridge built by Christopher Georgiades held 34 pounds for a new record, beating the 21 pounds held in prior years.
