Rockets raise funds to support relief this fall
Hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods have created dire conditions for many Americans this fall, and the community of Archbishop McNicholas High School has responded in several ways:
Seniors Veronica Menendez and Natalie Martinez both have connections to Puerto Rico and appreciate the Rocket community's support.

--Talent Show-McNicholas students, faculty, and alumni joined forces to present the annual Talent Show a little earlier than usual this year in order to raise funds for UNICEF. Over $2000 was raised through ticket sales and online donations to help children being affected by the natural disasters.

--Theology Classes Collections-Theology teachers collected $831 from McNicholas students to support work by Catholic Relief Services USA in Puerto Rico and Mexico City.

--Special collection for Puerto Rico-Veronica Menendez and Natalie Martinez drop off donations of items and an additional $144 from McNicholas students to support Cincinnati for Puerto Rico.

Thanks to the generous hearts of the McNicholas community for supporting the relief efforts!

NHS conducts drive to help those in need close to home
The National Honor Society is holding a Personal Care Items Drive for St. Vincent de Paul through next Monday. St. Vincent de Paul is always in need of these personal care items because the people who come into their pantries aren't able to purchase them with food stamps. So, SVDP has requested items such as:
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Soap
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Deodorant
  • Razors
  • Shaving cream
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Any similar items you can think of!
No donation is too small! All donations should be sent to Ms. Schwab's Room 102 in Senior Hall.  Thank you for your support of the National Honor Society's effort.

Respect Life Month

October is a month set aside by the U.S. bishops as a special time in which we emphasize our Church's commitment to the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. It will once again be marked as a time for prayer and action, and this year's theme for the USCCB's Respect Life Campaign is "Be Not Afraid"-the most repeated advice throughout both the Old and New Testaments.

How might we as individuals and as a community be not afraid to be advocates for the life and dignity of every human person?
