Mr. Dave Mueller
Principal's Corner

We're focused on Open House this Sunday, 1-4 p.m. McNicholas guides young people to become skilled and faith-filled problem solvers. We want as many students as possible to take advantage of a McNicholas education. Please encourage prospective families to attend Open House. Thanks to Rockets young and not-so-young who will showcase the school on Sunday.

For evidence of the impact of McNicholas on individuals and the community, we need look no farther than the alumni who will be recognized tonight during the Distinguished Alumni Celebration: Col. William Butler '86, Lizanne Gundrum Ingram '78, Dr. Jack Selzer '66, and Chris Gatio Haynes '74. We thank them for being exemplars of compassionate leadership striving towards Full Stature in Christ.

Class of 2023 Freshman Day of Renewal
On this Friday, October 25, the Class of 2023 will gather for their first Day of Renewal and Reflection as an entire class. The day will be led by the Campus Ministry team, additional members of the faculty and staff, and around 35 members of the senior class who have answered the call to accompany the first year students by serving as peer ministers for the day. More information about the day has been communicated to the Class of 2023 both through their Theology classes and via e-mail.

NO Friday Morning Mass This Week
With both no presider available and with Friday being a Day of Renewal for freshmen and a testing day for sophomores and juniors, there will be NO MASS BEFORE SCHOOL this Friday, October 25. Because we will gather as a community in celebration of the Solemnity of All Saints, there will also be NO MASS BEFORE SCHOOL on Friday, November 1. The Friday morning Mass before school will resume with Fr. Dave Endres presiding on Friday, November 8.

Class of 2021 Kairos Retreat Discernment
Parents of Juniors
--Members of the Campus Ministry Team will soon be visiting with juniors in theology classes to talk with the Class of 2021 about the Kairos retreat options for them. This school year, we will be able to offer a small number of spaces in our January 21-24 retreat, as well as the March 17-20 retreat that has traditionally been solely for Juniors.

We will give them preference forms during the week of October 28, and ask that students discern which retreats will work best for them, especially as they consider what other commitments they may have in the next 12 months.
The first day for them to turn forms in will be Monday, November 4.  All forms should be returned to Mrs. Sandmann no later than November 8 in order to have preferences considered while discerning retreat groups.
