On the 1st of December, Archbishop William E. Lori, 16th Archbishop of Baltimore, hosted a reception to support Bethlehem University in its role of providing Christian higher education in the Holy Land.

The reception was held at the Residence of the Archbishop of Baltimore, directly following the celebration of the Vigil Mass at the Basilica of the Assumption. The event Chairs were the Most Reverend Denis J. Madden, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Baltimore and Vice Chair of the Foundation's Board of Directors; and Mr. Benjamin Monastero, Treasurer of the Foundation's Board of Directors. The Host Committee was Ms. Kathy Brown and Mr. Scott Klinger; Ms. Anne Butta; Mrs. Stephanie and Mr. Samuel Hoyle; Brother John Kane, FSC; Mr. David Kinkopf, Esq.; and Mrs. May Shomali.

Over $21,000 was raised in support of Bethlehem University!
During the evening, Archbishop Lori was invested as an Honorary Patron of the Bethlehem University Foundation in appreciation for his service and his ministry on behalf of the Christian communities in the Holy Land. Honorary Patrons are appointed by resolution of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, in recognition of their extraordinary support of the work of the Foundation.

Archbishop Lori joins the three other Honorary Patrons of the Bethlehem University Foundation: the Most Reverend Bernardito Auza, Papal Nuncio and Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations; the Most Reverend Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States; and Brother Joseph Loewenstein, FSC, former President and Vice Chancellor of Bethlehem University.
Also formally invested as a Patron was Mrs. Jane Chopko. Mr. Mark and Mrs. Jane Chopko are Bronze Patrons of the Bethlehem University Foundation.

Created in 2016, the Patrons of the Bethlehem University Foundation   are those individuals or couples who make a qualifying gift to the Patrons Endowment. By their generosity, the members of this giving society invest themselves into the work of the Foundation in its sole mission of supporting and promoting Bethlehem University.
