FRIDAY FLASH

April 21, 2023

A Message from Headmaster Scott

Dear Archway Trivium families,

This week I had the opportunity to sit with a few of our volunteers who were able to join us for breakfast. This is an annual tradition where we, as an academy, get to say thank you for the great work done by our many volunteers. I think of the great line of Paul written to the Corinthians: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and angels, and have not charity (sometimes translated love), I am become a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.” Certainly the countless hours of service rendered by our families were given out of love. We all enjoy the camaraderie and connections gained, but at the root, we give of our time because of our love for children and for the mission of our academy. What could be more great hearted than this!

Heartily Devoted,

Clay Scott

Headmaster

Tax Credit

CONGRATULATIONS & THANK YOU!

We ultimately had 8 sections meet the goal for Pajamas and Popcorn. Three classrooms, in particular, helped bring in enough extra Tax Credits to help classes that had come within 1 or 2 of the classroom goal! The P&P day will not take place until Tuesday, May 23. We will send home additional information regarding the parameters for the pajama attire prior to that date, along with a reminder of the 8 sections that earned the opportunity to participate. Thank you, everyone, for your work in helping to get us closer to our Tax Credit goal! We will announce our $100 Gift Card winner next week!

State Testing Dates (3rd Grade Students Only)

The final state testing dates for 3rd grade are April 24-25. In order to best prepare for the exams, we ask that you take note of the dates and plan ahead. If a student leaves the testing environment, s/he cannot continue their exam and it will be submitted as-is. Please do not schedule appointments for these dates or pull your children out early.

We recommend that your scholars get a good night's sleep the day before and a nutritious breakfast in the morning. Please have students bring the following: a healthy snack and water bottle for the break during testing.

Additionally, all students should bring a set of headphones, as certain parts of the test require audio. These must not be Bluetooth headphones, but be able to connect via an auxiliary cord.

3rd Grade: April 3, 4, 24, 25

Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off/Pick-up

With the expansion of Archway and addition of the new building, there are significant changes to the traffic flow for the upcoming school year. Please carefully review the new Archway Traffic Flow for Student Drop-off and Pick-up and reach out with any questions. Taking the time to understand these procedures will help to ensure the safety of our students/staff and a smooth traffic flow.

Carpooling Update: Our east side pick-up lane has had a faster track and will now be our designated carpool lane.

If you have 2 or more Archway ONLY pick-up cards, you will be guided into this fast-track lane for a faster pick-up. Please be sure to have your pick-up cards ready to show our traffic controllers that you are carpooling so they can guide you to the appropriate lane. To maintain the flow of pick-up, others may be directed to the fast-track lane, but carpools will be given priority. Please do not enter the carpool lanes until you are directed to do so.

As a reminder, if you are picking up Middle School students DO NOT ARRIVE to campus before 3:15 PM. This creates significant delays. If you arrive before 3:15, we will ask you to go back into our pick-up lanes and try again.

Please follow the link below to review the DETAILED Archway Traffic Flow Plan and be sure to share this link with anyone authorized to drop-off/pick-up your children.
