Dear Kindergarten Families,

The first day of school is memorable for students and parents. To honor this special moment for incoming Kindergarten students, Kindergarten parents will be able to walk their child onto the playground and spend a few minutes with their child on the first day of school, Thursday, August 4 during the times noted below.

First Day of Kindergarten - Thursday, August 4

Section KE - 8:10-8:20 AM

Sections KA and KD - 8:30-8:40 AM

Sections KB and KC - 8:50-9:00 AM

Kindergarten students who are dropped off (without a parent) before 7:50 AM will gather at a designated table in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) with activities and supervision. Once our older students are in class, Kindergarten students will proceed to the playground for a special time of play.

Our Headmaster, Dr. Scott, along with the Kindergarten team and other faculty members will be on hand to greet you and your child on their first day of school.

Due to limited parking, parents choosing this option may park along the east curb behind our playground and gym area beginning at 8:00 a.m., as space allows. Please enter campus from Encanto Blvd following the regular morning traffic flow and look for directions from staff for parking. If you are planning to park/walk-up, please do not arrive prior to your child’s start time for this ONE DAY ONLY, special start time.

Families will receive an introductory email from their classroom teachers on the morning of Monday, August 1 letting them know their child's Kindergarten section (KA-KE). Our Kindergarten Meet the Teacher Open House is Monday, August 1 from 1:00-2:30 PM. Please check the Friday Flash for more details regarding this event.

During our Meet the Teacher event, all Kindergarten students will receive a special "first day of school" nametag and backpack tag from their classroom teacher. Kindergarten students should wear these color-coded nametags to school on the first day to help identify which Kindergarten section (A, B, C, D, or E) is their own. Backpack tags will be used throughout the year to help staff quickly identify Kindergarten students during drop-off/pick-up to help them find their way.

We are looking forward to sharing this memorable time with you and your child.
