On Mother's Day, we think of our families and everything they have given us - love, support, and strength. Along with all of the wonderful traits your mother or father may have passed down to you - dimples, brown eyes, or even that second toe that is longer than your big toe - if one of your parents has FH, you have a 50% chance of inheriting that gene too.

Individuals with FH have a twenty fold risk of developing early heart disease, but THERE IS GOOD NEWS! While you cannot make your second toe any shorter, there is a lot you can do to manage your FH and significantly reduce your risk.
