We're excited for a safe and successful Spring 2022 semester! Our updated guidelines include new deadlines for students who are taking an in-person or hybrid class this spring to upload their proof of a booster. Read the Chancellor's latest letter. Congrats to CUNY SPS, which just drew high marks from U.S. News & World Report as the nation's 10th best school for online bachelor’s programs. The magazine also touted the school's programs for veterans, psychology and business! The world’s first AI center for precision nutrition and health is being co-developed by this CUNY school, which netted a grant of about $8 million from the NIH to develop new ways of improving diet and nutrition in the U.S. CUNY students interested in finance — rejoice! A new CUNY fellowship program in partnership with BNP Paribas will help students to launch careers in finance and build strong professional networks. A generous pledge by a legendary CUNY physicist and trailblazer for women in the sciences will help establish an endowed visiting professorship fund at this CUNY school. This CUNY school just received a $1 million grant from the Gray Foundation to sustain an innovative program that helps thousands of students graduate on time.

Carolina Rosa Martínez, Brooklyn College ’21 and BMCC ’18, came to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic seven years ago to attend college, but she initially struggled to navigate the country's system of higher ed. After she found her footing, she led a podcasting project at Brooklyn College to dispense advice to her fellow CUNY students. Carolina will now pursue a Ph.D. to become a professor, writer, researcher and translator.

Carolina’s advice: “When I started college as a freshman and immigrant student, I was afraid to reach out. Don’t be afraid to ask anybody for more information; even other students have information that can help you thrive.” Interested in comparative literature? Connect with Carolina on LinkedIn!
