Christie Vilsack, the special speaker for the evening, will speak for about 15 minutes on her passion for education, and specifically food and agriculture education. She currently serves as Advisor to CSU on the redevelopment of the National Western Center as an education tool for Colorado.

The Women's Clinic of Northern Colorado - Fort Collins

The Women’s Clinic is the largest physician owned OBGYN group in Northern Colorado and one of the largest OBGYN groups in the west.
In the late 70’s and early 80’s Karol Krakauer was a registered nurse who was instrumental in helping the state of Colorado create a governing and licensing board for nurse midwifery. Today they have 8 board certified nurse midwives. All of their nurse midwives highly educated, experienced registered nurses who went back to school to become nurse midwives.
In 1978 the Women’s Clinic hired their first Fellowship trained Perinatologist in Northern Colorado to manage high risk pregnancies and keep mom and baby close to home. Today the high risk unit at the Women’s Clinic is called Rocky Mountain Perinatology, a fully owned subsidiary focusing on consultative maternal Fetal Medicine.
In 1985, in a mostly male dominated medical specialty, the Women’s Clinic hired Northern Colorado’s first female OBGYN Physician, Beverly Donnelley who became a partner. She retired in 2017 after 32 years of service. Today they have 13 female physicians, and 7 male physicians on staff at the Women’s Clinic. All of their physicians are board Certified by the American board of obstetrics and gynecology (except their newest physicians who typically take their boards within the first 2 years of joining our group).
Currently they have 3 Physician Assistants, 6 Nurse Practitioners, and 8 Midwives. What started out in 1965 as 3 doctors in a single office in Fort Collins delivering babies at Poudre Valley Hospital has grown into 3 offices and 38 providers delivering about 10 babies a day at hospitals in Fort Collins and Loveland. They are currently working on the logistics and staffing required to start providing care and delivering babies at the new UC Health Greeley hospital.

August - Berthoud Fire Protection District
|
|
Congratulations to the Berthoud Fire Protection District for being nominated business of the month for August. We want to thank Chief Charles and his team for all their help during our Chamber Events. At Berthoud Day our main tent was set up within what seemed to be minutes because we had the help and support of the fire fighters. The set-up crew was blown away by how easy they made it for us. We are grateful for our local fire department and volunteers.
