Health care in the United States is expensive. Are you paying more than you should be?

A new survey from The Commonwealth Fund found that in the past year, 45% of insured adults in America received a bill or copayment for a cost they thought should have been covered by their insurance. It happens more than you might think.

How can you ensure you are only paying what you are supposed to? We have created a step-by-step guide on using the documents from your insurance company to check your medical bills for errors.

Under a grant from the Kentucky Department for Public Health’s Office of Health Equity, we created a video library that provides education about the different types of health care coverage, what to consider when choosing a plan, how to get the most out of your coverage, and so much more.

Navigating the complexities of America’s healthcare system is just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to ensuring equitable access to care. TAI is committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to advocate for themselves and their families. But our work doesn’t stop there.

We’re also focused on broader systemic change, and that’s where you come in. Mark your calendar for Thursday, September 12th, because TAI is excited to participate once again in Give for Good Louisville.

Give for Good Louisville is the biggest day of local giving. Last year, nearly $10 million was raised for nonprofits across Metro Louisville.

We are grateful to everyone who generously donated to TAI last year. We raised more than $5,000 to advance our mission of transforming health care coverage financing in the U.S. so that everyone has access to high-quality, affordable health care from birth until death.

One way you can help now, at no cost, is to click here and share a sentence or two about why you give. Your response could be randomly selected to win a $100 grant for TAI.

We hope you will join us on September 12th.
