Congress Has 10 Legislative Days to Pass CHC
Mandatory Funding

Contact your members of Congress!
Community Health Centers provide high-quality, comprehensive care to 28 million patients in medically underserved communities – including rural areas – across the nation. As health centers leverage the federal and state investments necessary to bring health care where it would otherwise not exist, they also generate economic gains within the communities they serve.

In 2017, health centers:
  • Generated more than $54.6 billion in total economic activity
  • Created more than 405,000 jobs across the nation
  • Provided 5.7 million visits for substance abuse disorders
  • Helped 65,000 patients through opioid use disorder through Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Every voice and story matters. Contact your members of Congress and ask that they pass five years of extended funding, with increases over time, to allow for health center growth and workforce programs by September 30.

National Rural Health Day is November 21, 2019
National Rural Health Day is November 21, 2019. Rural communities are wonderful places to live and work, which is why an estimated 57 million people – nearly one in five Americans – call it home. These rural communities also have unique health care needs.

This day celebrates the Power of Rural, by bringing to light the unique health care challenges that rural citizens face. It also showcases the efforts of rural health care providers, State Offices of Rural Health, and other rural stakeholders to address those challenges. Together, we can make a bigger impact!
