Rev. Hardy H. Kim, preaching
Greetings!

Do you ever long for the world to be different than it is right now? Are there bad things happening in the world that you wish would stop? Are there ongoing problems that you just know we need to address, but that seem far beyond anyone’s capacity to handle? Or are there ways in which people simply seem to have agreed to live, that don’t feel as healthy or kind as the way of being to which God is calling us?

I think most of us experience these feelings from time to time. And maybe we even dream of how the world could be better. But then, in many cases, we return from those dreams to our reality, and things go on just the way they were.

But what if things could change? What then?

Come join us this Sunday for a story about how life can offer possibilities beyond our greatest expectations – and about what we might do when those possibilities arise.

In faith,
Hardy
Theme for Sunday

“No one gets to play Jesus. But we do get to experience Jesus in that holy place where we meet others’ needs and have our own needs met. We are all the needy and the ones who meet needs. To place ourselves or anyone else in only one category is to lie to ourselves.”
-Nadia Bolz-Weber, Accidental Saints
Questions for Reflection
  • Think of one big thing in the world that you believe should change.
  • Are you doing anything to create change in that situation? If not, what’s stopping you?

Luke 5:1-11
