JUNE 17TH, 2020
“Believe you can and you're halfway there.”

– President Theodore Roosevelt
Did you read what's etched at the top of the sign? Look again.

It reads, "I DON'T BELIEVE U". Can you imagine how this hiker felt emotionally and physically? They were probably exhausted and when met with the reality that they were only halfway to being finished they made sure to leave their mark of disbelief. Perhaps you can fully understand how this person felt. Are you exhausted? Are you tired of making a plan and then having to make a new plan? Do you long to reach the end of the COVID trail?

We are half way through June and we can count the days till its over. There is certainty and a definitive end to June. We are almost halfway through 2020 and know exactly when it will end. However, what we are experiencing daily has no regard for a calendar or a pre-determined timeline. We don't really know where we are at on the map and what amount of time will be necessary to reach the end.

When I read the sign above, what stuck out to me wasn't, "I DON'T BELIEVE U" or that the sign reads HALFWAY POINT. What I appreciated about the sign and it's direct correlation to our journey is the request...

PLEASE STAY ON TRAIL

We aren't all hiking the same trail, but the message remains the same.
Keep going! We are all a little tired or maybe a lot tired. Either way, just keep going.

When we watch the news, scroll social media, or talk with friends we're all being told what matters these days. We want you to know that YOU matter! Your business matters. Your employees matter. Your connection with our community matters. If you're feeling tired, we understand (insert a pat on the back and pom pom cheer leading for all you've accomplished). As we look to tomorrow and the days that follow, we want you to hear this: no matter your pace please stay on trail and keep moving forward. It matters.

Keep smiling, keep sanitizing, and stay safe!

Doing Well While Doing Good
FNBT EARNS 5-STAR RATING
“It’s a noteworthy accomplishment in the best of times,” boasts Karen Dorway, president of the research firm. “Today, it speaks volumes. How do they do it? A solid sense of community, working one on one, providing solutions to people who need it - that’s the mark of a true community bank. First National Bank and Trust’s team members have been right there on the front lines doing whatever they could to help their neighbors and friends throughout the pandemic. And, they’ve done it all without compromising the strength of the institution itself. That’s doing well while doing good.”
