Hello Ted,
"Knowledge is plentiful but wisdom is scarce"- this is often said to describe the time in which we live.
The ability to communicate with people can be a challenge almost every day of our lives. We need wisdom to improve.
INSIGHTS INTO BEING A BETTER COMMUNICATOR
Share, Impart and Convey are words that often define what a person does when they communicate.
The book of PROVERBS gives great understanding into how to be a skillful communicator.
A perfect example is Proverbs 15:1:
“A soft answer turns away wrath but grievous words stir up anger”
I personally don’t know of another verse or any other writing that gives better insight into being a good communicator. I have relied upon that verse for many years
Also more verses of communication insight from Proverbs 15:
“A soothing tongue [speaking words that build up and encourage] is a tree of life, But a perversive tongue [speaking words that overwhelm and depress] crushes the spirit.
The lips of the wise spread knowledge [sifting it as chaff from the grain];
But the hearts of [shortsighted] fools are not so.
There is severe discipline for him who turns from the way [of righteousness];
And he who hates correction will die.
A scoffer [unlike a wise man] resents one who rebukes him and tries to teach him;
Nor will he go to the wise [for counsel and instruction].
A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, But he who is slow
to anger and patient calms disputes.”
