Are you a new voter? Unsure if you’re already registered already? You can check your registration status and register to vote on the State of Florida’s online voter registration website at this
link.
Beginning at age 16, citizens of the State of Florida can access the State’s online voter registration website to pre-register so they are ready to vote in time for their first election.
To register online, you must:
- Be a legal citizen of the United States of America.
- Be a legal resident of the county in which you seek to be registered.
- Be at least 16 years old to preregister or at least 18 years old to register and vote.
- Not be a person who has been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting in Florida or any other state without having the right to vote restored.
- Not be a person who has been convicted of a felony without your civil rights having been restored.
While using the online voter registration website, you will need access to your state issued Driver’s License or an Identification Card issued by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
REMEMBER
While you can update your voter registration at any time, the deadline to register for an upcoming election is 29 days before that election.
- This means to participate in the August 28th primaries, one must be a registered voter of the party one wishes to vote in by Monday, July 30th.
Since Florida is a closed primary election state, a party change for a primary election must be made by the registration deadline for that election.
If the deadline has passed, you can still submit an online application at any time and it will be processed for future elections.
